The Two

The two were standing in the city street, chatting about life.
"It's so easy to judge people," one said, shaking his head.
"Their morals, their code—it's a bad joke."
He paused momentarily and looked around at all the other pedestrians passing by.
"You know what they say," he concluded with a smirk, "'Life is short and has no inherent meaning.'"
His friend sighed in agreement as they walked off into the night.
